We are traveling north on Pacific Hwy and in the space of 1 hour passed 4 south bound BT's north of Coffs Harbour.

Unusual to see so many

Southbound is the wrong way to go at this time of year, unless you absolutely have to.
They should all head for North Queensland for the BT Rally on the Southern Atherton Tablelands at Tepon near Herberton in September.
Much better weather than at Southern NSW or any of the southern States at the moment.
Singlet and shorts through the day and bare feet on the grass. The only way to go.
We know why the birds fly north in winter.

Cheers

From one of the 5 in Howard Springs, Darwin. It is like a mini rally over here. I have been here since May and recently I have seen BT's everywhere here in Darwin. Caught up with 3 of the others here today and found the BT social spirit still alive and well. I have seen quite a few other BT's moving around Darwin in the past few weeks so they must be spread out in the other Darwin parks. Weather is pretty good here at the moment so that might be the attraction. Might see a few more of you around up here over the coming month.

We are camped at Ball Bay [50km north of Mackay] and close to 5 weeks on the road and only spotted 1 BT , [looked new] around Mt larcom.
Of to Townsville [family], then Mareeba [again family], then the muster [plus places in between].

Booked for the muster today, see you all there.

We are now in Denham WA and have not spotted a BT in the last three weeks or so. I assume we will see more the further north and north west we go.
Not a lot of FREE camps from Cervantes to here......too many National Parks and if caught out the fines are heavy. Did have a freebie on the edge of The Pink Lake at Port Gregory the other night.
You can get permits here, $10 per night and camp at designated spots, but for one night only. Restricts you a bit.

Travelling through western Queensland, and we have seen about 10 BT's in 10 weeks - and none had CB's turned on for a bit of a chat.
