Before you ask how many amps, all the specs indicate is:

"Powered by 12 Volt Power Adapter"

I have written to the mfg to determine amps usage.

Not sure about the Grundig Jay.
Had one that kept burning out the power adaptors (3) and then on a trip up the Cape it died alltogether.

thanks Mate, that is the beauty of the BOG - sharing information.

There is another 12V we are going to look at - Voxson VLCD23XPD
- 23" / 58CM Full HD LCD TV with Integrated DVD Player.

Anyone have experience with this unit?

Jay,

we went with SIM's choice of brand, Phoenix, and selected a 22" model. We were happy to do that because young Daniel needs to know that he will have all the necessary inputs on the tellie to connect all the electronics we wanted.

The set is very good.

Don't forget that you will need at least one HDMI input (it's very common these days, you'll probably get 2 or 3) to accomodate the new VAST Sat TV system when it comes in which will get you all the current free to air channels (7TWO, GO etc).

Also, a USB input is very handy to show your digital photos as a slide show from a USB thumbdrive.

cheers

Jay, here's the link:

I'm pretty sure that those figures mean it is but a quick confirmation by SIM would clarify that.

Has anyone any experience with 'Kogan' or 'TEAC' TVs? They seem ok for vans and have in-built DVD . cheers, Neil.

Hi Neil,
We have a 19" Teac with the built-in DVD as well as SD Card slot and HDMI. Works a treat and no problems in 18 months in the BT.

We just bought 15 new TEAC 32" TV's with built in DVD players for the motel and they are a hit with our guests...all working well.

Hope this helps
Cheers
Rick

We had SIM pre-wire the TV facility & bought our own - a 22" Kogan. Great TV. When we picked up the van Daniel asked us for our TV and took it away and brought it back fully wired and ready to plug in. This was a service we had not expected from them as we had declined to have them supply the TV.
