Sassy Sam
Has anyone been on the Oodnadatta track in the past few weeks and if so what is its condition? I am back in Alice Springs briefly and heading to SA and thought I may get to do the track this year seeing as I missed out due to rain last year.
Regards to all.

We are in Alice, the chap in the van next to us came through last saturday. He said it was slippery.
My suggestion would be to ring the Pink Roadhouse at Oodnadatta just before you leave Alice.
Bob
PS We met the other day at Tennant Creek.

We did a trip up as far as William Creek from Lyndhurst last week.
Dusty in places, but in the absence of rain no problems for the Supreme Territory.
Can't speak for the Marla - Oodnadatta - William Creek section, but the road is posted as open to all vehicles.
Check here every day

Came off the Oodnadatta Track yesterday - little rain last night. Road from Oodnadatta to Marree was great - a few sharp gully's but otherwise like a bitumen track.

Greetings, drove this morning early(03-00hrs) from Flinders/Gammons, mod-heavy rain on us. Heavy reported on radio north of us(Gammons and above). May have changed conditions overnight. Unusual season this.

Thanks for all the information. Unfortunately, my Patrol broke down 45km north of Kulgera and I have been towed back to Alice Springs. Looks as though may be costly repair so I will probably miss out on the Oodnadatta. Might be a good thing as it has rain was bad on Thursday and Stuart Hwy wet all the way to Kulgera and from the looks of it beyond.
Still trying to live life though the good old Patrol is holding me back at the moment.
Regards to all.
