I got a telephone call from the importer last week to say that they are now available for the 200, but only in black for the present time.

Great stuff Willie......those mirrors are the Ducks Guts as you can pull them out when towing and push them back in when you're not....similar to the Silverado mirrors....and you don't scuff the paint on your door with the straps from the Truck mirrors.

We were that close to ordering a new VX 200, got the price down to less than $90k drive away too.....but we will hold off until next year and hope they release a few new colours.

We don't need one until our planned 6 week break next September. Maybe they'll have the chrome mirrors then too???

Keep well Mate
Cheers

We had chrome Clearview mirrors for our LC 100, we now have black. Far too much glare and reflection from the chrome. Mirrors are excellent but from experience stick to the black

Hmm yes that is a thought with the thick slide out arms being a large reflective surface area. Maybe the black ones could be colour coded so that they look like an original fitment.

Forgot to ask....did you find that they stick out too far while in the retracted position??

Looking at the pics on the web site, it looks like a big sail sticking out there waiting to be hit on something. Also, as they stick out so far in the retracted position, I was wondering if they would need to be pulled out to use on the 200 series as it is a couple of inches (60mm) wider than the 100 series.

Cheers again

Rick,

That is what has given me second thoughts. In the "IN" position they still stick out a lot further than the standard mirrors. If somebody has got a pair, I would love to know exactly how far they do stick out.

My problem with the width is twofold. Firstly, I back my car in really close to the left hand side of our garage, so that my wife has plenty of room for her car.

Secondly, I do a fair bit of rough track work and I think I might leave the Clearview Mirrors behind on a tree if I forgot (unavoidable) to fold them in.

I have talked to a BOG member who is thinking about a way of shortening them (IN and OUT) by 2". They would still do the job nicely with 2" less width.

Cheers,

Willie.

Yes Willie,
I concur with the possibility of ripping one off in the close in bush, but that sounds like a way out by shortening them up a little. Does the supplier think that might be an option from his end? Would be a good thing from a warranty point of view.

In any case the Clearview is a far better option to the Aussie Strap Ons that we have now. It doesn't take long for the bull dust to get in between the strap and the paint on your door and it does as fine job of scuffing the paintwork.

Sounds like a winner if you can get them shortened a little.

With the BT on they look like they OK but without the BT they look like Tony's ears (we have renamed the truck Mr. Rabbit). I think if they were 2 inches shorter they would not do the job on our LC 100.

You do get used to the extra width and they do fold back against the side of the cruiser for city parking or in the garage.

hi guys
yes they do stick out even when in so its a potential problem even on narrow tracks
our friend from wa who have them on thier 100 series are very concerned about the quality when we saw the mirrors at 4 months old the were quite shabby & not what you would expect for the $ (although they were good when new)
cheers
