You should be getting at least 4 amps per panel. With 2 by 120, 1 by 125 and 1 by 130 watt panels we have readings of up to 32amps when the batteries are down a bit and sunlight is good.

BTi always used to say that 3 by 120 watt panels required a 30 amp solar regulator. It is strange to only have a 15 amp regulator.

Also if the panels are Kyocera 120 watt panels manufactured around the 2000 -2002 era, then most of them were faulty and were under a warranty replacement.
Our 3 failed a few years ago and 2 were replaced with 120 watt and when the 3rd went they replaced it with a 130 watt panel.

I would suggest that you throw a blanket over 2 panels and then check the reading that each panel is giving.

Hi Musky and Mare

We too had faulty panels and didn't know it until we got into the tropics where panels don't work so efficiently. We thought 5 amps was maximum from four panels!

When testing, bear in mind that if you batteries are charged, you will only see the amount going in that the batteries need, eg if your fridge is running and drawing 4 amps, the panels will only be able to put 4 amps in.

We had a Prostar 20 - i didn't know there was a Prostar 15. How old is your caravan? We had to change the controller as it was inadequate when we got the four new 130 panels under warranty.
