Nice read and photos.
Pildappa Rock 15K's north of Minnipa on the Eyre Highway has also had small walls built around part of the rock to channel water.Very ingenious......

we camped at Pildappa last winter on the way east. Very nice spot.
These granite outcrops in WA are roughly on a line from Perth to the eastern goldfields (Kalgoorlie, Menzies etc) and were set up as watering places for the bullock teams in the early days.
They are great campsites and historically very interesting.
