Stephen,

You have done wonders with photoshop on the photo of the 2 of you. It makes you look so young.

What is your planned route and time frame for this trip?

That's not Photoshop, that's a black & white picture from the pioneering early days of photography, circa 1969. I should use Photoshop on current photos.

Less tummy and more hair than 2011.

From Derby we are going on the GRR to Kununurra and will be there from 20/7 to 25/7. Then into the NT, up to Adelaide River. I'm waiting on reports on the condition of the Savannah Way and then it's SE to the BT Factory for some repairs (refer to my blog entry "Easter Break" where I reversed into a tree). I expect to go via Cloncurry, Winton, Longreach, Blackall, Roma and we are booked into BT on Aug 22 for 4 days.

Then it's up the coast in a leisurely fashion to arrive in Cairns on 8th Sept. We leave there on 20th Sept up to Mareeba.

Then we will head down through mid-west NSW to camp on the Murray River for a while and home to WA by the end of October.

We are travelling with friends, one of whom is undergoing chemo, so this is basically a trip for his enjoyment going to places we have told them about. The lengthy stay in Cairns will allow him to fly home for more treatment.

Unfortunately the dates for Quorn did not fall into the right place in our schedule so we will have to miss out.

Hi guys,

Love the photos and the trip notes.

You covered in five days what we covered in 8 months! Guess that is the joys of living in WA you know it like the back of your hand, and visited everywhere previously.

Took us 22 days to get down some of the GRR before Allan hurt his back at Mornington Camp. Reckon it would have taken us another 10 days at least to get to Derby otherwise.

Safe travels, we are up at Buderim if you feel like a cuppa in August.

Cheers

Allan and Sharon
