For those who haven't been up the coast in QLD since TC Yasi, you may find this interesting.

Hi Stephen,

We to have travelled down through cyclone effected areas spending bit of time and money. Very sad for lot of people.
We were working as assistant managers of Big 4 at Port Douglas for 18 months and expereinced Yasi. We got off really lightly minimal damage and took 6 / 10 ton truck loads of debri out of park.
Preparing for Yasi was really scary as it was originally to hit Port Douglas and with the forcast wind speed of 290 kmh.
Talking to owner of caravan park at Taylors Beach near Lucinda he stayed at friends house during Yasi but said never again to scary.

Cheers Rob

"Here is the area now. The big tree in between the 2 palms in Mick's photo has virtually disappeared. The hill on the northern bank was not visible in his photo"
