Hi everyone, We are travelling mid october from perth to noosa, via the great central highway. We have permit for travelling through aboriginal land on the WA side of the border. Do we HAVE to have a permit to travel from docker river to curtain springs on the NT side of the border??

Hi Spydor and Robyn

From Docker River to Kata Tjuta only needed. Very easy to obtain on line from the CLC.

About permits CLC

If passing through the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park and not sightseeing at all there a par pass is not necessary. If stopping for a look, a $25 per person pass is required (valid for three days).

Personally I would not bother - no-one will look at them and they cost nothing - just a bit of 'shiny bum' nonsense IMHO

I agree with that. We went through all the nonsense and then after doing the road wondered why we bothered. If you get to the NT border and you dont have a permit, what do they do...tell you to go back to Laverton.??

Cheers

Hi everyone,
Thanks for all the input. All sorted, now have permits for both sides of the border. Quite easy on line, even for a NON computer person like me!!
I agree, it's better to keep to the rules, as silly as they are.
Cheers Spydor & Robyn
