We have a Coolmatic frig that started to go clunk as the door closed.
This clunk became more intense with use.

The problem is the hinge pin that connects both doors has come loose.

To fix, first unload any contents from the door.
Leave the catch on the freezer door latched.

Use a 10mm spanner to undo the bottom hinge pin on the frig door.
Take care to not lose the spacer washers as the pin comes out.

Remove the door. The hinge pin that connects both doors will probably fall out as the door is removed. Again do not lose the spacer washers on the top of the door.

The hinge pin is about 25mm long with a knurled section in the middle.
Insert the hinge pin in the hinge bracket, and bang-in with a small hammer.

Locate the door on the top hinge pin (make sure the top spacer washer is in place) & locate the bottom of the door on the bottom hinge bracket.

Insert a large screwdriver between the door and the hinge bracket to lift the door so that the spacer washers can be re-installed.
Insert the bottom hinge pin & screw in.

Check to see if there is any space between the top spacer-washer and the hinge bracket. If this so, (things wear) remove the bottom pin & add a washer to eliminate this space.
Finally, tighten the bottom hinge pin with the 10mm spanner.

Now earn “Brownie points” from SWMBO as the door now closes as it should.
