Later in the year we will be spending a couple of months in Europe travelling through several countries and I would like to get a prepaid SIM that can be used in different countries without the high roaming fees to would apply to our Teltra SIM.
Does anyone know of a SIM that would be suitable for Italy, Austria Switzerland areas?

Brian we usually get Orange Co. SIM card when visiting our daughter in the UK and as in dust. just bought it in the supermarkets but not sure about the greater Europe.
Try Googling "European sim cards" , I know there are a lot of options but not sure which is best or would suit you. Might be worth a look though.

Hi Brian,
We are in Switzerland right now, staying with a daughter who says that
prepaid sim cards are available for around 10 francs in post offices or any
mobile phone place. Keep an eye out for "orange" or "sunrise" .
Enjoy your visit, it is absolutely stunningly beautiful countryside.

Glad you're enjoying your Swiss trip, Brad & Denise. Are the hills alive with the sound of music?
We have just finished a Hurtigruten fjord cruise in Norway. In Trondheim right now.
We didn't bother with an overseas SIM. We took an iPad for internet access, there's free wifi in the ship and hotels, and we use our phone for SMS or brief calls if necessary. Ipads have a whole bunch of shortcomings if you want to do any blog updates etc, but for web surfing and emails, they are fine.

Hi Stephen
Just spent the morning walking beside Lake Geneva watching yachts racing,
then spent the afternoon at a cafe up a mountainside watching paragliders
landing on the field next door.
We are using the laptop for emails, and the phone we haven't used at all, but have it for emergency.
Hope you are enjoying your trip and have caught up with family.
Cheers

I'm jealous. Switzerland and Norway - two of my favourite overseas countries - especially the Norwegians Fjiords :)
Enjoy the wonders Brad and Denise, and Stephen and Mrs Bush

Hi Motherhen & Rooster
We are enjoying the vastly different scenery.
Just returned from 5 days in the South of France.
Sounds like things at home are a bit wet from reports we have received, looks like the tractor is coming out when we get back to mend washouts on the driveway, then can't wait to be off in the BT.
Cheers, stay warm and dry.
