I did two 9 day tagalong tours with Gold Prospecting Australia, who are based in Victoria - one to the Wiluna Area and one to Gidgee.

There was 18 detectorists on the Wiluna tour for 319 nuggets ( 215gm). On the Gidgee tour there was 15 detectorists for 308 nuggets (150gm).

After the two tours had finished, I spent three days detecting out of Cue Caravan Park. Gee they have spent some money on that CP - it's great now.

My trip totals were 146 nuggets for 46gm lots of small nuggets under a gm - only half decent one was 4.4gm

Next trip is to Bendigo in September.

My 2001 16 foot BT "Elvis" performed faultlessly as usual. I only saw two other BTs in the 8000 km travelled.

Cheers,

Willie.

No, I have only paid for a trip once out of the five I have done. But I am doing something I love and it's just a big adventure. I shouldn't get that for free anymore than I should get a free trip to Europe.

Whatcha been doin yaself Mrs Chook ?

Willie.

Feeding sheep, and wishing i was out on the road. I have just weaned NINE bottle fed lambs and now feed them lamb pellets twice a day because it is a bit cheaper and easier than milk. I've hardly moved on my website work since lambing started in May, so i am still not far into Qld from our 2009 trip with my travelogues, and other research takes forever because hardly anyone gets back to me. Our only trip this year was a week at our mini muster at Denmark - same last year - but they were really good outings.

Good one Willie,

I pulled a 12.4 gram nugget when passing through Clermont (At Mc Masters GPA)on the way home from a months break on the coast. Looking forward to getting on the road to the goldfields again in Feb next year.

Motherhen, Lambing in full swing here in CW Queensland.... but we don't hand rear any lambs, just try and control the predators. We have had good winter rain so the place is turning unseasonally greeen - great start for thre lambs

Cheers

Hi John,

12.4gm is a beauty, especially as Clermont is pretty heavilly detected.

Nowdays we are just picking up the crumbs left by earlier detectors. Of the 600+ nuggets found on the two tours, from memory, I think there was only 3 nuggets over 10gm. It's getting harder and harder to find anything decent, but I still get a buzz from finding any nugget.
