Hi, can anyone tell me if the hoad curtains strink after washing? I have vacuumed them before but we are currently on the savannah way with the red dirt and I would like to wash them when we get home. Any advise would be helpful.
Thanks Di

Hi Di,

I wash each curtain in the Lemair on board washing machine.

One at a time means (hopefully) they don't stick together.

Then, like the any curtains, you put each back on the hooks and let the wind dry them. So far no worries.

Note: I do not take the hooks off, to much fuss and bother and I have never had a problem with these either.

Cheers

I have no idea what Hoad curtains are, but our curtains are original with our 1998 caravan. They get a good machine wash when we get home, and a light iron when dry. Some vestige of red dust stains can remain in the white backing on the curtains.

Di,

When in doubt ask Mr Google. I did and this is the result from HOAD CURTAINS.

How should I care for my curtains?

All curtains must by law, have cleaning instructions sewn into the hem. Generally we would recommend having your curtains cleaned by a professional cleaner, simply because they are bulky and difficult to handle domestically. However many Hoad fabrics are suitable to be laundered at home. Every Hoad sample has complete after-care instructions included. Cleaning your curtains will also prolong their life. Water damage and exposure to sunlight can weaken yarns over time. The effects of heat, tobacco smoke, moisture and some atmospheric pollutants can cause permanent damage to curtains. Cleaning them will lessen these effects.
