Is there any difference in performance between the Tekonsha Prodigy and the Tekonsha P3?

The P3 is newer but seems to be cheaper on Ebay.

I had to switch to the P3 as the Prodigy was not compatible to the electric/hydraulic brake unit on our boat trailer but I can't say I have noticed any difference with the P3 when pulling the van. Obviously the electric/hydraulic brakes would be great on the van but I haven't gone that way yet and probably won't due to the age of the van, just wish the option would have been available when we planned in 05.

Hi
I have the P3 controller in both my work and private vehicle .
They told me it gives you better information on the screen as to how much power you are sending to the brakes.

Cheers
