Hi

Just wondering what sort of delay times people have had on delivery of new vans.
.Would be interested to know, what others have experienced.

I'm disappointed to the max at 7weeks late so far, planned on being away by now.

Cheers Ken

I will watch this with interest,

I'm considering a BT, and can see how a delay this long would impact on planning

have they given you a reason ?

Sorry to hear this, Patty

Hi all...

As much as there is frustration galore in such a delay, don't let it stand in the way of a BT van... they are the best around "by a country mile" (or 1.6 km) in my and many others opinion.

Just hang in for it and apply some 'gentle' pressure and seek explanation... mind you, ours is a second hand van, so I can't really talk from experience like you are.

By the way, if you didn't know, they are expanding their complex having aquired the property next door... things should improve.

Regards,

Craig (and Jan)

Thanks Fugly

They say they are the best.
Can only hope it's more reliable than their production schedule.

Thats good they have the factory next door,as far as I'm concerned it couldn't get any worse, mmm, or could it.

Cheers Ken

Hi Gone Bush.

That's 7 weeks so far.

Unacceptable, you are not wrong.

I have an electrical business and if we missed deadlines by that much, I wouldn't have the money to be buying this van. LOL

Seven weeks must be disappointing, but look on the bright side Ken.

Once you have it you won't regret the experience, and will have years of enjoyment.

Hope this softens the blow.

Hi Kev

Thanks for the kind words of support, I'm sure you are right

However the prolonged delays have now caused my holiday plans to be cancelled,
so as to not upset my customers.

So it may be a year before I actually smile about it LOL

I'll get over it Ken

Hi Ken,
Can see you one foot barefooting (20 comp points!!!). Think I'll have to post my barefoot photos.
When you finally get your BT - yes it will be worth it - I hope we catch up on the road and tell a few stories - especially if you joined the Barefoot Club.

Re delivery we were lucky - first one in 2000 spot on time; and second one in 2011 - 2 weeks early.

Yeah, I'm sure it will be worth it

To be honest I thought it would have been an early delivery as well.
Since it is only a 14', with, no solar or electrical upgrades, no A/C,no heater, no extra roof vents, no overhead cupboards, pretty much as basic as you can get.

Looks like I must be the maybe 1 in a 1000 that has a problem,
but to me that's 1 in 1,= 100% problem rate.

Posted a few old photos so you can score my trick run.
I was more into barefoot drags, behind a boat called "LA Hooker"

Hello Ken (and all),

Matthew Kurvink from Bushtracker. I have posted part of our response sent personally to Ken this morning to address this issue:

------
I can appreciate you are disappointed at the delay in your delivery time. Just so that you are aware, we are not singling you out. Unfortunately our facility is currently running several weeks behind schedule at the moment. We are doing everything we can do get back up to date. I can understand this is causing frustration and can only offer my apologies.

This has been further compounded on your particular van by the discontinuation of the standard roof lifters we normally use. As a result of this we have had to completely re-source and re-design the roof lifting system which has caused further delays.
------

Unfortunately being a hand built product and dealing with many varied suppliers, delays are sometimes inevitable. We do everything to avoid this from occurring, but we are human just like everyone else.

Kind regards,

Matthew

I waited 15 months for my BT. Delivery date was October 2009. Sure I was disappointed back then, but in the scheme of all things, the wait was worth it.

Our van, a few years back, was a week or two late but we had made changes. Have never regretted for one minute any of the delays.

From Matt's post I gather you are getting a pop-top. As these are only new and currently low production rates I am not surprised at some delays.

Once you get ityou will love it.

We took delivery two weeks ago. We were informed early this year that there was a two week delay in the factory schedule. However, in mid Feb we were given a 16 April delivery date and there was no variance to this. It might have helped that we have a standard 20' van (as per Mathew's input above).

While we only have 2000 kms on the van, I fully concur with the sentiments above - this is a GREAT van!

Regards

Jim

When we ordered our van in 06, we were given a delivery date of 25th July 07, a 9mths wait.
9am on the 25th, July 07 we fronted for pickup and cheez, we weren't given possession till 3pm that day.
Talk about being disorganized.
Sorry, just being facetious.
We certainly had no problems with our delivery even though we had to make a couple of 1800km round trips because prior selections were no longer available at construction stage.
6 years coming up and still no complaints.
Ken, can understand your disappointment, but the wait will be worth it in the long run.
Ken
