Hello Ken,
Our Van is a June 2011 Model and we have two large pot draws and they are NOT dovetailed, only the two cutlery draws. Never thought about it before. In our old Bushtracker we only had the cutlery draws.
Cheers,
Norton.

Hi Ken, all draws in our van are dovetailed, 2 cutlery draws,6 storage draws at the end of the bed,and 2 at the bed side .
Build date is sept 2007 , which draws are not dovetailed?

Regards Dave.

Dave and Ken it looks like the softwood timber drawers are the dovetailed ones, but the heavy and already strong ply drawers are not.

We have had a very heavy pot drawer in where the microwave may normally be if we had wanted one. I have got to it with a hole saw and jig saw this week and 0.5mm to fill the gaps, using building adhesive to hold it in place and unite it. All ply of course with this drawer apart from the hardwood front.

I put the aluminium inside the frame, but also outside the frame by the stove, giving a double shielding. The heavy drawer had caused issues with the catch. It seems to have been higher drawers in the cabinet where the caravan has really pushed with higher frequency and exaggerated movement. I think it is better having some of the weight out of this drawer in particular, but also use the strip over the catch.

With our previous van a KK, we had very light weight all aluminium three sided and floor inner box and timber front. They were strong too with the slides and drawer frame.

Ken,
Just had another look at ours. Both bed side drawers are dovetailed and the draw above the washing machine. Its just the large storage draws not done.

G'Day, Have just checked our 2004 built BT out. It would seem that any draw that is a standard size is dovetailed, others aren't. Not sure how BTi workout what the standard size is. Maybe that is something they should point out at design stage.
