When I went into Aussie Traveller (ATRV) I saw that they now sell ATEC Pure Sine Wave Inverter Generators.

I thought other BOG members might be interested so I got some details on them.

They have 2 models, a 2000i and a 3000i and they are priced at $990 and $1240 respectively. I was told that courier freight to very remote areas should be less than $70 so most places should be a lot less.

The 2000i dimensions is H=41, L=48.5, W=33cm
Rated Power is 1600W and Max power is 2000W
Weight = 21kgs

The 3000i dimensions is H=45.5, L=56.5, and W=43cm
H=41, L=48.5, W=33cm
Rated Power is 2800W and Max power 3100W.
Weight= 38kgs and has wheels on one end and fold away handle at the other.

Members looking for a Generator might be interested in these as they are much better priced than the Honda models.

The link to ATRV is in the supporters section on the right.

Hi Brian,
Like most here we have a Honda EU-20i and it's rated at 1600w continuous/2000w peak and we've had ours for about 12 years now and been a great generator.

When the electricity black outs happened up your way 12 months ago, I bought 3 generators from Super Cheap Auto for the kids to use in their respective households. At the time the rec retail was $799 and now it's gone up $50.

The generators are a line for line copy of the Honda EU-20i. They were on special when I bought them and I paid $639 each, but I noticed that they were on special recently for $550.

This model also has a digital read out which cycles over and displays...Output voltage. Cycles per second, Load Watts and Hours used.

We have one here at the motel and recently we had power off all day for a transformer change in the street and the Honda and this Black Ridge ran our important items here at the motel all day...

This is the generator. Black Ridge Generator

Hope this helps
Cheers
Rick

Mick,

Well the 3 KvA definitely would and when I was at the factory they had both a 2KvA and 3 KvA out that were fuelled up as a demo and I was told that someone had taken the 2 KvA down to test on the caravan air conditioner while an awning was being fitted.

You would have to confirm with ATRV what tests have been done running air conditioners.

Hello Brian,

Did you happen to hear the noise level of the 3KVa version of these? If so how does it compare with the Honda 2KVa?

Regards

Paul

Paul,
I bought a 3 KvA and it is not any louder than the Honda.
The booklet shows 2000i as 53 dBA , and 3000i as 58 dBA.
