I'm pretty sure Hayman Reece recommend a light coating of multi purpose grease for the pin. Just need to keep the dust and dirt away from it and clean and replace regularly if you can't.

Are you talking about the pin that holds the hitch in place in the receiver?

If so, I would keep it dry.

.yes i'm talking about the pin vehicle components recommend to lightly lubricate what are others doing i've heard of some dry sprays of people may use

Hi there
We spray the bushes top bottom and inside, and the pin, with silicone spray.
Replacement bushes are small trailer bushes and easily changed.
We use chassis grease in the universal joint and swivel shaft of the hitch.
