I'm considering the need for a long range fuel tank for our F250. Being new and still running in, I'm not sure what the range will be. But I'm picking it may be someware between 400 and 500km in reasonable conditions. Obviously a lot less in sandy stuff.
We are planning to get outback a fair bit and would value advice from some of the old hands about what sort of distance we will be covering between tipical fuel stops.
I guess what I'm trying to ascertain is when does the cost of a long range tank become justified vs a few jerry cans and the frequency of trips.

Try any ARB store and get them to check there Long Ranger series of tanks or search the web and contact Long Ranger direct.

Hope this helps.

We wanted a greater fuel range for our Isuzu Truck and balked at the price of having a permanently fitted tank. We went for one of the farmer/contractor type plastic tanks with there own pump gun hose. 200litres, about $800. Works well. We can take it out if we are only doing short trips and sell it when we finish with the truck. Economical and effective.
Recently we drove from Alice Springs to Geraldton (across the Great Central Road) without refueling. A mix of the contractor tank and a few 60lt drums.

Hi Nordave,
If your interested in going the way of a 200 litre poly tank with 12volt hand piece
and pump I've got one you can have for around $400 .
I used it for around 18 months then had a custom made 200 litre aluminium tank made to fit across the bed behind the cab in my Ram Truck.
Cheers

That's for that offer Brian, but we are going to be living in the van full time and touring so space on the truck will be at a premium.
So if I do get some thing it would be to fit underneath.
I was interested in the ARB one which is 270 l but apparently it won't fit the later models.
F Trucks from Perth do a 198 l one so may consider that.
Unless any body knows of any others.

Hi
Have a look at the long range tanks from Harrison F Trucks. I have seen them in their showroom in Maroochydore.
