G'day all
Just a quick question regarding replacing our rooftop air con (dometic b3000 which we have had repaired and parts replaced on numerous occassions) with a domestic type split airconditioner.
I am thinking of placing the outside unit (weight 28-30kg) at rear of van and inside unit (weight 8-10kg) on an internal wall near the bed.
All up weight is similar to original Dometic b3000 but power usage and associated noise is considerably less (as is replacement cost).
Any thoughts positive or negative are welcome!
Regards Grahame

Good day
Them split systems may be quieter in side your van but the noise outside is a big pain for any one camped near you. We had a big problem when we had to stay in van park at Longreach, mongrel next door wanted to run the rotten thing all day all night.

G,Day

Have had a similar experience with the Dometic B3000+. Piece of junk

Have ordered a replacement unit, the new Dometic Harrier inverter unit

These units have not hit the deck yet

If this unit fails, next move will be an Air Command Cormorant

Will keep you posted
