Hello to any one reading this.
I am writing on this forum to find out if anyone out there is able to suggest/helpout with our situation.
My parents own a 2002 19ft Bushtracker caravan. Unfortunately they were involved in a serious accident and rolled their car and caravan. The car was write-off and the caravan (if it was insured) would probably have had the same outcome. The caravan wasn't insured so they are left with a damaged van, and no ability to repair the van.
We have had towed the caravan home (1000km) and it tows really well, no swaying or sideways movement, so the chassis seems to be quite good. The only "visible"damage is to the left front area where the van landed when it lay down. The van appears to be reasonably straight and is repairable.
We have had it looked at by a repairer, but of course the man hours required to remove the outer skin and repair the framework damage and then replace it all sees it deemed "unrepairable".
I suppose what we are hoping is that there is someone who has the skills and is wanting to take on the repair.
Open to suggestions.
Regards Craig

Craig

Have you actually taken photos and asked Bushtracker for a price?

Depends on how damaged and where. Someone may be interested in getting it repaired and upgraded at the same time. eg change axles, lithiums and end up with a great van which they know all the details of. If it just fell over it may not be badlly damaged as that Bushtracker alloy frame is very strong.

Trust you find someway to help your parents.

Alan

To The Hob
I did ring bushtracker and they told me that they don't repair vans. They suggested I use this forum to see if anyone does. The van looks really good, definitely can see the impact area but it does look very repairable.

First I have ever heard that they not repairing vans. I caught mine on a tree a few years ago and it was repaired and anytime I have been to BTI there have been damaged vans there. I'd recheck to see there wasn't any misunderstanding.

They are taking it to a wreckers to get a price. It looks like they will only get 10 - $15,000.
