MEG & Capt Norty

WEDNESDAY 28TH APRIL - After a sleep-in, we all set off for Nerada Tea Plantation for High Tea.
We had the opportunity to taste different teas, and heard all about the history of tea and the Nerada tea Plantation, owned by the Russell Family, third-generation tea-producers. It is also the home of one of Australia's rarest animals, Lumholtz's tree kangaroo, living in the trees right outside the Teahouse.

I did not know before, but Pink Boggers are those with another make van, and waiting for delivery of their Bushtracker. I was more impressed with Warren's natural streaks - we girls pay many $$$ for those sorts of streaks.

It was then onto Mt Hypipamee crater for sightseeing and a byo lunch.

Back at the Camp, Capt Norty and B1B2Bfree (Ann and Phillip) went on a birders stroll along the Barron River at the camp. Unfortunately none of the many platypus were seen.

Back in time for happy hour

THURSDAY 29TH APRIL - 8.00am departure for Lake Barrine Tea House for a decadent breakfast. The Batos and Cruisin' Twosome shamed us all by getting up very early and completing the 5km trek around the lake. Others decided to walk off their breakfast. The circuit around Lake Barrine is 5kms, and supplies many birds, tiny animals and rangers working on the track.

Tomorrow is our departure day. Some are taking advantage of a bonus trip to Chillagoe. I want to be back in time for Smick's Champagne Sunday.

All in all, a wonderful week, after an horrendous COVID year. Thank you to the organisers, Sue and Mick (Smick) and Lesley and Alf (Noonameena Drifters)
See you all next year.
