Dickabram Park - (Dickabram Bridge Rest Area) - QLD

The rest area is on the west bank of the Mary River near the small town of Miva. The previously rural area became a town to support the construction of the Dickabram Bridge which is now heritage listed because of its iron and timber construction and the unusual arrangement whereby the roadway and the railway lines ran side by side for the length of the bridge.There is space for three or four average sized vans in the rest area where overnight camping is permitted. The area has toilets, waste bins and sheltered picnic facilities.The road carries more traffic than I imagined but quietens at night so interruptions to sleep from the rattle of bridge planks should be infrequent.
