Negri River Crossing - NT

The Negri River is a permanent river in the Kimberley near the border of Western Australia and the Northern Territory and is a tributary of the Ord River. The river flows mainly during the tropical wet season from November to April. During the wet season the Negri River catches massive volumes of water draining into the Ord River system. The crossing can rapidly become deeply submerged, fast-flowing, and entirely impassable. During the dry season (May to October), water levels drop significantly, often leaving the concrete dry or shallow enough for high-clearance 4WD vehicles to cross safely.
