Information
Cheela Plains is located 130 kms (via gravel) west of Tom Price and 320 kms north east of Exmouth on the Nanutarra/Munjina Road (Hwy 136). The facilities are situated 1.5 kms off the bitumen road and are accessible by 2 wheel drive car year round.
Station Stay campsites offer lawn, shade, hot showers, toilets, coin washing machine, fire pit, gas BBQ and camp kitchen.
Join in around our unique blazing fire pit for a drink or to cook dinner or breakfast over the smouldering Snakewood coals.
If electing to stay at the station stay campground for two or more nights, you have the option of a complimentary self-guided 4X4 gorge tour. If staying only one night at the Station Stay campground, there is a $15 fee for the self-guided 4X4 tour to the gorge. A $20 bond is required for the key to the locked gate. Alternatively book on the tag along full day tour. Custom tours available upon request.
We also offer unique intimate bush campsites at the Beasley Gorge located at Woongarra and Mussel Pools. The spectacular Beasley Gorge (36 kms from the Station Stay) offers a choice of two camping areas: Woongarra Pool where there is a long drop toilet, shower and rustic fire pit. The second location is Mussel Pool, 2 km from those facilities and requires your own chemical toilet. Portable fire pits are located throughout the area. Check-in at the Station Stay to collect the key to the locked gate ($20 bond) and map. Your adventure begins by following the map 36 kms to the Beasley Gorge where you can select your site. Please arrive before 2:00pm to ensure you are set up before dark. Chemical toilet required if camping at Mussel Pool. The key needs to be returned to the Station Stay by 11:00am on the day of departure.
