A grassy creek flat surrounded by dramatic ridgelines. Bottlebrush trees and Lomandra sp. grow throughout the camping area providing shade and seclusion for campers. The upper level is large, open camping area set in open forest.Location: at the southern end of East Haldon Road in Main Range Conservation Park (formerly Glen Rock State Forest).Access: can be reached by conventional vehicle.Number of sites: open area without separately defined sites. If you book or register as a group, you must camp together.Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car, trailers, caravans or camper vans. Campers with a horse float are to camp in the group camping area only.Camp site surface: Grass.Facilities: toilets, showers (cold water only), fireplaces and several sheltered picnic tables. A horse yard is provided a short distance from the camping area. Tap water is provided in the camping area but must be boiled or chemically treated before drinking.Open fires: permitted in the fireplaces provided, except when fire bans or prohibitions apply. Bring your own firewood—untreated, milled timber off-cuts are recommended. Do not collect wood from the park. Fuel stoves are recommended.Generator use: prohibited.Shared trails suitable for walking, cycling and horse-riding lead upstream along the valley floor, or up the steep ridgeline. Take in views across the valley to Glen Rock and the mountain-clad ranges beyond.Access via Gatton
The road to the park is narrow and winding, with numerous creek crossings that flood after heavy rain.From Gatton
At the western edge of Gatton, turn south off the Gatton-Toowoomba Road onto Mount Sylvia Road.
Travel south through Tenthill to Junction View.
At the old Junction View State School veer left and follow East Haldon Road to the park.
Continue to the end of the road. The last 4km to the park entrance is gravel.
