Information

Rosney Hill Lookout is located in Rosney Park, on a hilltop overlooking the eastern end of the Tasman Bridge, of which it provides a magnificent view. It is about 6 km from Hobart and easy to miss. We found it by pure chance while looking for a c\good point to observe Hobart city and waterfront from the eastern side of the Derwent.

It is in the suburb of Rosney, is the place where the bridge comes back to earth on the eastern side after it's flight over the river. The hill is on a small peninsula in Kangaroo Bay. The upper part of the hill has tourist and picnic facilities and the lower slopes carry suburban streets that provide to the residents great views of the river, Hobart and Mount Wellington.

The viewing platform features information displays so you know exactly what you're looking at in the distance. The entire area is well maintained by the city. They even cut the tops off of trees that try to block the view.
