Information

This little bridge was built in 1843 as part of the improvement of the road to Tasmania's east coast and to link the growing towns of Swansea and Little Swanpool. It takes its name from the construction of the walls that have stone spikes protruding along the full length. on both sides of the road. It was convict built and is located about 7.5 km south of Swansea.

The bridge has been bypassed by a newer road and now provides access to a farm. It is very near the current road and hard to miss as you pass by.
