Opalton Bush Park is located within the Designated Fossicking Ground, 1.5 hours south of Winton. The Bush Park offers Fossicking permits, undercover camping sites, rustic huts, barbeque facilities, toilets, showers (hot water via a donkey), tank water, WiFi, friendly local miners, lots of space and opal.
Cost is $2.50 pp/pn via honesty box. A QLD opal fossicking licence is required, available on line or locally.Bird watching is also popular with rare species located in the area.
