Information

At an elevation of 1600m the hut is on the Eskdale Spur hiking track approximately half way up to the summit of Mt Bogong. The hut is for emergency purposes and was built in 2005 to replace the old one that was destroyed by fire in 2003.
It contains emergency medical equipment and other supplies, a sled and a small hand driven 5v generator with USB outlets for charging phones etc.
Near the entrance is a plaque in memory of 2 young men killed by an avalanche whilst snow boarding the slopes of Mt Bogong in 2014.
