Hamilton Downs Youth Camp - NT

Hamilton Downs Youth Camp is a short 1hr 15 minute drive from Alice Springs. Offering unique bunk house accommodation and camping options.

The Hamilton Downs Youth Camp was part of the original Hamilton Downs Station and was developed by the Apex Club of Central Australia. The camp is now managed by an elected Management Committee. Officially opened in March 1978 the camp offers a good clean and tidy camping facilities primarily for school and youth groups, however all visitors are welcome to use the facilities.

An independent management committee is responsible for the day to day operations and for maintaining the heritage values of the buildings and site. The homestead is comprised of five heritage-listed buildings which were constructed between 1910 and 1923. It is set on the (dry) Jay creek, with the spectacular Chewing Range as a backdrop.
