Jourama Falls Lookout Trailhead - QLD

Large carpark but no facilities. This is the trailhead providing walking access to rock pools and a wonderful lookout to the Jourama Falls. Follow this track through open woodland dotted with dark-green cycads and smooth, white poplar gums as it winds towards Waterview Creek. Look for the bright-red flowers of weeping bottlebrush trees in the sandy creek bed. About 100 m beyond the creek crossing is a signposted junction. From here you can take the track to the many rock pools further upstream or continue to the lookout. The 600 m track to the lookout is all uphill, but you will be rewarded with views over the falls and surrounding rainforest. Misty rain falling in the tropical mountains ensures water flows over the falls for most of the year.
