The Kilkivan to Kingaroy Rail Trail is an 88 kilometre recreation trail following the old Kingaroy Branch Railway Line. The rail trail between Kilkivan, Goomeri and Murgon is a natural formation and most suitable for mountain bikers, bushwalkers and horse riders (some sections only). There are amenities on the trail between the townships. Some areas of the trail can be affected by weather
events at times, use the trail with caution in these circumstances and seek current information before you embark.
This one’s definitely not for the Sunday cyclist or the boring bitumen biker.
This one’s rustic and it’s real and it’ll take you over 28 kms of rolling hills and farm lands to Goomeri.
Be prepared for steep inclines and wade-able creeks, but the views from Cinnabar sidings and the French pastries at the Goomeri Bakery make it all worthwhile.
