Information

The Cooloowyne Embankment is an earthen dam located near Lake Eucumbene in the Snowy Mountains, NSW. Constructed as part of the Snowy Mountains Scheme, it prevents overflow from a natural saddle in the surrounding hills. Built in the late 1970s alongside a new spillway, the embankment ensures the stability and safety of the Eucumbene Dam system.
