Established in 1887, the iconic hotel stands out like a oasis in the desert. Located along the Oodnadatta Track, about halfway from Oodnadatta to Maree, the William Creek Hotel started out as a boarding house circa 1886. It became a store, wine bar and boarding house shortly thereafter. No record can be found as to when it became a hotel however.This iconic outback pub is the epicentre of the region and the front bar is the town's meeting place. It is also the place for camp ground and accommodation bookings, restaurant bookings, snacks, espresso coffee, cold drinks, fuel sales - unleaded & diesel, Internet access cards, souvenirs, scenic flight enquiries of Lake Eyre, painted hills and beyond.
