First mentioned by Michael Terry in the journal of his 1933 expedition, Redcliff pound sits in between the northern and southern arms of the Murraba Range. It is not a distinct pound shape like the iconic Wilpena Pound is South Australia. Rather this is a broad spinifex clad bowl bordered by low ranges. The higher hills on the western side provide excellent views across Terry's "Chugga Karri" and lake Hazlett.

Labbi Labbi Rockhole is situated in the Murraba Range 5 km south of the pound.
