‘In the Steps of our Forefathers” - In Honour of Surveyor Robert Dixon who in October 1839, established The Normanby Plains Trigonometrical Baseline 3 miles long approximately through this point. This started the first accurate mapping of Queensland. Erected by The Institute of Surveyors, Australia Queensland Division as a Bicentennial Project. Erected 28 May 1988.
