Information

Camping is on wooden tent platforms. Because the Western Arthurs have extremely fragile alpine soil, these platforms are mandatory at Lake Cygnus, Lake Oberon, and High Moor to prevent erosion and plant damage. Since you can't use traditional pegs on the timber, most hikers use the provided cables or bring small "fishbone" anchors to secure their tent to the gaps in the platform boards.
