Cullyamurra Waterhole - SA

Australia's biggest billabong the beautiful Cullyamurra Waterhole.
Along a 7 km stretch there are plenty of peaceful camping spots. New loos built in in 2009.
You can toss in a line and catch yellow belly and catfish.
Power boats are permitted up to 10hp and not to exceed 10 knots. Paddle a canoe or swim.

Fascinating watching the corellas coming in to roost at night flying with precision into the holes created by falling limbs on the river gums. Sunset magnificent.

A 1 hour return walk to see the choke at the upstream end with its indigenous art. 1 in 20 year flood March 2010 with water level rising to 10.5m covering campsites and Burke and Wills sites of interest. 2025 flood peaked at 13.47 m.
