Information
Situated in Nelson, Victoria, Kywong Caravan Park is nestled among the tranquil bush land of the Lower Glenelg National Park. Being part of a State Forest, no pets are allowed. Only a short walk (approximately 500 metres) from the river makes the park a great hub for families, adventure seekers, outdoor enthusiasts and those just trying to escape busy city life. The closest boat ramp is 1 kilometre from the Park. There are 11 cabins, 63 powered sites, 18 reserved unpowered sites as well as a general unpowered camping area. Much like Nelson Township, the park is generally quiet and has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We aim to provide a great holiday experience so that travellers of all kinds can enjoy the outdoors. We cannot guarantee the quality of Television reception here at the Park. Telephone coverage is limited to Telstra in our area. Fires are only permitted in dedicated areas and at specified times of the year. All fires must have the consent of Management. We do not allow generators. Closet dump points are located Mount Gambier, Port Mac Donnell, Portland and Dartmoor.
Kywong Caravan Park is unique as it is a community based operation. The park is run by a not-for-profit organisation with proceeds invested back into the local township to make it more enjoyable for residents and tourists alike.
Nearby activities include kayaking, fishing, river cruises, hiking, boating and bird watching.
