Trough Well (Tank) - WA

Trough Well (Tank) is located about 50kms north of Bullfinch on the Mt Jackson Rd. The distance is approximate because roads in these areas can move if a new mine starts up. Use the Lat & Long to locate the entrance on the RHS if heading north. Treat the road with extreme caution if it has been raining.

Trough Well (Tank) is on a granite outcrop. In the early goldrush days wells like this were built to water the bullock teams on the way to the Kalgoorlie goldfields. This one has superb brickwork using only the locally available rocks. Extensive low-set walls channel the rain into a trough where there is water most of the year.

The surrounding grassy areas provide a beautiful campsite for many vehicles. It's a great place for a quiet restful camp. Please keep it clean and tidy.
