Gregory Downs Riverside Camping Area - QLD

Very popular camping area either on the slopes and closer to the toilets/shower or on the actual riverbed gravel. Sometimes too crowded. After the dust and distances the river is crystal clear and flowing all through the dry season. The Gregory Downs Hotel (The an original coachhouse from the last century) is less than 500m up the road and as showers and toilets. No traffic noise just gently gurgling waters, shade and stars.

There are no facilities at the camp. Everyone ignores the "No Camping" signs. Rumor has it that the publican at the pub threatened to close his business if the no camping signs were policed.

The official camping area near the road junction is not used as it seems to be adopted by a noisy group of "locals".
