Description

A trap for unwary insects. Widely distributed through northern Australia in damp areas. Elongated leaves, curled when young, with long sticky hairs. Leaves may be reddish or green and 5 petalled flowers vary in colour from white through orange and pink.

Flowering start in March and ends in September.

Identification

The main flower colour is pink. Grows in poorly drained/damp places. Leaves equipped with sticky hairs used to trap insects.

The green plants were seen growing along the edges of ephemeral lakes near Lake Caroline, Simpson Desert. The red plants were from the Mitchell Plateau.
