Information
The Mount Tibrogargan Trail Head is a short drive from the Steve Irwin Way, just south of the town of Glasshouse. The facility has a car park, toilets and picnic facilities and directional and information signage. It provides access to the main Mount Tibrogargan climb and to the Tibrogargan Circuit and the Trachyte Circuit. The area is part of The Glasshouse Mountains National Park.
The car park is accessed off Marshs and Barrs Roads. The Tibrogargan circuit (1 kilometre to the Mountain View lookout, 4.1 kilometres for the complete circuit) begins to the east of the visitor facilities in Mount Tibrogargan car park.
A short walk (10mins) leads to the Mountain View lookout, with views over Mount Beerwah, Mount Coonowrin, Mount Tibberoowuccum and Mount Tunbubudla. Then continue on the circuit walk around the base of Mount Tibrogargan through casuarina groves, open eucalypt and melaleuca forests. The track provides some great views of Mount Tibrogargan. The walk takes about one and one half hours.
Trachyte Circuit leads through open woodland and heathland linking Mount Tibrogargan and Mount Tibberoowuccum. The Jack Ferris lookout, on Trachyte Ridge, allows for good views of the surrounding peaks.
