Upper Wattle Flat Camp Area - NSW

Established but basic grassy bush camping areas amongst gorgeous tableland eucalypt forest beside the pristine Styx River in the state forest. Trout fishing, swimming in river pools. Platypus, blue wrens, fireflies (late spring to early summer). No bookings required. No fees.The forest can be accessed via the Armidale-Kempsey Road (the road is open through to the turn off onto Styx River Forest Way). Turn off north-east onto well signed Forest Way and follow directional signage to Wattle Flat. There are 2 Wattle Flat campsites (Upper and Lower).Basic facilities are: firepits, picnic table and long drop toilets. No bins.
