Built for the purpose of training the water flow in and out of the entrance to Georges Bay it provides a better water depth for vessels to navigate the bar way.
The 900 meter walk from the Blanche Point car park takes you out along the seawall to Blanche Point at the end and you can see Dora Point and Blanche Beach with views all the way back towards St Helens
