Information

Floodplain crossing usually bone dry. Flooded every 15 to 20 years, so at such times the Cooper Creek Ferry must be used. About 4 km of the track went under to a depth of 1.2m in 2010. Quite canoeable among the coolibahs. 2025 flood is bigger than 2010 but soaking in more as the desert is drier in 2025. Tracking the flood from Innamincka, the flow rate varied but in the end it took exacly the same time - 82 days - to reach the track on June 24th 2025.
