Information

Freshwater camping area provides shady, sheltered sites set amongst scribbly gum woodland (don't camp underneath these gums as they fall without warning) about 500m inland from the beach. It offers formalised camping with defined sites and can be accessed by 4WD only. The camping area is suitable for tent camping beside a car; walk-in camping; and camper trailers (with good clearance). Facilities include water (treat before use), flushing toilets, hot and cold showers ($2 coin for 4mins, to help conserve water) and a free pay phone - there is no mobile phone reception. Free gas barbecues are provided at the nearby day-use area. There is a portable toilet waste disposal facility adjacent to the Freshwater Day-use area. Fuel stoves only.NOTE - there are no bins at either Freshwater campsite or Freshwater day-use area. All rubbish must be disposed of at industrial bins located at the beginning of Freshwater Road.
