The Cooper's Creek floodwaters arrive from upstream every 15 or 20 years and flood out across the salty surface. Some will flow south into Lake Hope while the rest continue downstream in the main channel. The timing of each flow can be ascertained from satellite images and the occasional video taken from a light plane, as being a very remote area no other data is otherwise available.
