John Donaldson struck a flow of mineral water here while working in the creek for gold he laid it succeeded in relocating it a little above the rustic bridge at the head of the lake. The water is alleged to be as good as that at Hepburn the Avenue of elms create an inviting sense of arrival for visitors to the Jubilee spring where visitors can rest and sample the sparkling mineral water Which has been used by visitors to the area since 1903 today this spring has a stainless steel pump and information about water quality and some historical photos. This lovely day use area is nestled at the base of the valley fringed by a caravan park.
